    Have you ever thought that we may be doing ourselves and others a disservice to refer to mental health as an illness? Many doctors and scientists are now describing stress, anxiety and depression, the basis of the modern epidemic of mental health, as natural responses to a life situation. This doesn't make it any less important and urgent, but what if we referred to this as Happiness Health? What if we were making our lives worse by trying to remove bad feelings? How would you feel if you discovered that they were the way to greater happiness?

                                             

    As a Happiness Expert and teacher, I know that what we focus on and repeat over and over, we create more of and that is what seems to me to be happening. Can you imagine if we focused on Happiness Health and repeated that over and over??? 

    The problem is that no one teaches us HOW to be happy or how to overcome life's challenges with insight and wisdom. Soaps on the TV teach us how to be angry and even kill each other. What if they taught kindness? What if they showed people flourishing through life's challenges, becoming strong with forgiveness or having the courage to change their life when they are in the wrong job or wrong relationship? Showing them achieving a positive result with confidence, just like my guest Tom Smallwood in my Walk And A Talk For Happiness Seekers Series.

    Tom was a CEO for a large company when he began to suffer from depression and eventually he quit his job. In this interview, he shares his story that changed and saved his life. I hope you find it inspiring and there is a message in there for you.
